GAME NOTES: The top team in the Ivy League will battle the worst this evening when the Cornell Big Red collide with the Brown Bears at the Pizzitola Center. The Big Red head into this matchup on a low note, having lost to Yale on Friday by a 72-60 margin. It was the second loss in five games for Cornell, which is now just 3-7 on the road. However, despite the loss the team is still on top of the Ivy League with a 7-2 mark. As for the Bears, they are on the opposite side of the spectrum, looking up at Cornell from the basement of the Ivy League with a 1-8 conference ledger. Brown has dropped eight of its last nine games, including a 70-57 decision to Columbia last night. Cornell owns a strong, 66-46 lead over Brown in the all-time series, and that includes a 90-58 victory by the Big Red over the Bears earlier this season.

The Big Red have clearly been the most potent scoring team in the conference and come into this matchup netting 74.0 ppg, behind a strong 46.9 percent shooting effort. Ryan Wittman is leading the way for Cornell with 18.3 ppg and also has a team-high 66 assists. Louis Dale is contributing 14.1 ppg on the year, while Jeff Foote has been strong in the paint, netting 12.1 ppg, to go along with a team-best 6.9 rpg. Surprisingly, however, the last time Cornell was in action the team scored just 60 points behind a 38.3 percent shooting effort, en route to a 12-point loss to Yale. In the setback the team was once again led by Wittman, who scored 21 points. Foote added 14 points, while Dale was held to just seven points on a 3-of-12 clip from the floor.

Unlike their counterpart, the Bears have been atrocious at the offensive end of the floor and come into this game netting just 62.4 ppg. Matt Mullery has been one of the few bright spots for the team this year, as the big man is pacing the squad with 16.2 ppg, and 43 blocks. Peter Sullivan is contributing 14.4 ppg, while Adrian Williams is chipping in with 12.1 ppg. On Friday the Bears' poor play offensively continued in their loss to Columbia, as the team shot just 40.8 percent, while netting only 4-of-18 shots from long range. Mullery led the way for Brown with 21 points and also contributed six rebounds, four blocks and three steals, but also committed six turnovers. Sullivan added 19 points in the loss, while Williams tallied 10 points.

Cornell has struggled on the road this season, but look for the Big Red to bounce back from their recent setback with a strong victory tonight over the lowly Bears.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Cornell 77, Brown 58
