Brown got back on the winning track at home last week and will host Columbia and first place Cornell this weekend, Friday and Saturday, February 20 and 21. Both games start at 7:00 p.m. at the Pizzitola Sports Center. After playing five of its first six games on the road, Brown (7-15, 1-7 Ivy) captured its first Ivy game of the season Saturday night, beating Princeton, 61-43, for its sixth straight win over the Tigers. The Bears are 6-3 at home and 1-12 away from the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Junior center Matt Mullery is chasing the single-season Brown record for blocked shots. His 39 blocks this season are three short of the all-time single-season Brown mark of 42 blocks by Jamie Kilburn '04 in 2003-2004. Mullery also ranks second in the Brown record book with 95 career blocked shots. He scored 19 points vs. Princeton on 8 of 10 shooting from the field, and is averaging 16.0 ppg for the Bears, fourth best in the Ivy league, and shooting 58 percent from the field (133 of 228) to lead the league...
Senior Chris Skrelja and sophomores Peter Sullivan and Adrian Williams, each played 40 minutes in Brown's win over Princeton. Sullivan, whose 35.7 minutes per game leads the Ivy League, scored 13 points vs. Princeton, Williams netted 11 points, and Skrelja tossed in nine points, while grabbing nine rebounds. Sophomore Morgan Kelly connected on two big treys in Brown's win over Princeton, Brown's sixth straight victory over the Tigers.
Williams is still the Ivy League's leader in free throw percentage, connecting on 45 of 52 shots (.865) from the charity stripe. He also ranks 10th nationally in three-point field goal percentage (.447). Senior Scott Friske's 6.9 rebounds a game in league play is fourth in the Ivy League.
