The defending Ancient Eight champions enter the contest with a two-game lead for first place at 7-1, and they are also the only team in the conference with a winning overall record at 17-7. Since losing its only conference game to Princeton, the Big Red have run off three straight wins, including a 79-76 double-overtime triumph against Dartmouth on Saturday. Cornell now heads out for four straight on the road, with its next stop coming at Brown on Saturday. As for Yale, is in the midst of a four-game road trip that has begun a level 1-1. After posing a 60-48 win over Princeton to kick off the homestand, the Bulldogs were downed, 68-63, by Penn on Saturday. Losers of two of their last three games, the Bulldogs now sit at 9-13 overall and an even 4-4 within the league. The all-time series between Cornell and Yale is led by the Big Red, 105-100, and that includes 64-36 trouncing earlier this month.

Cornell is the Ivy League's most explosive team, averaging 74.5 ppg behind 47.3 percent shooting from the floor and 40.4 percent from long range. Ryan Wittman heads the attack with a hardy 18.2 ppg and he is hitting on 38.2 percent of his three-point chances. Louis Dale checks in with 14.5 ppg and 4.2 rpg, and Jeff Foote adds 12.0 ppg and a team-high 7.0 rpg to the lineup. On Saturday, Dale tallied 18 points and seven boards, as the Big Red held off Dartmouth in two overtimes. Wittman finished with 14 points, and Foote had 11 and nine boards in the win. Cornell knocked down 8-of-20 shots from three- point land and 27-of-33 at the foul line to take the game.

Yale has really struggled with consistency this season, especially at the offensive end of the court, where it is averaging a modest 62.2 ppg. Alex Zampier currently leads the team in scoring at 12.9 ppg and he also has 36 steals to his credit. Ross Morin nips as his heels with 12.7 ppg and he is pulling down 5.9 rpg. On Saturday, Zampier poured in 18 points, but Morin had just two, as Yale was unable to overcome Penn in 68-63 setback. The Bulldogs shot only 39.0 percent from the floor and were outscored, 18-6, from long distance.

Cornell simply has more firepower than Yale does and that should help it prevail in tonight's bout.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Cornell 67, Yale 60
