MEMORABLE DATES IN CORNELL-SYRACUSE BASKETBALL HISTORY

  • On December 3, 2008 Syracuse wins 88-78, but at half, it was Cornell leading 40-35. Cornell played the game without All-Ivy League guard, Louis Dale and led by as many as 15 in the first half.
  • From the video clip above, on November 9, 2005 in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, Adam Gore scored 22 points in the Dome as Syracuse narrowly escaped the Big Red with a 67-62 win.
  • On December 20, 2004, the Big Red fell to Syracuse 82-69 despite Cornell connecting on 15/24 3-point attempts (63 percent). Pictured below, Cornell's Cody Toppert ('05) connected on 7 of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc.
  • On December 7, 1987 in Syracuse, New York, Cornell and the #8 nationally ranked Orangemen met in the Carrier Dome in non-conference action. It was not much of a basketball game as the Orangemen crushed Cornell 95-59. The Big Red ultimately finished the year 17-10 overall and 11-3 in the Ivy League, advancing as Ivy champions to the NCAA Tournament. The Syracuse game, however, was notable for the brawl that broke out during the second half. Cornell was 2-0 heading into the game.
