Schedule Update

Cornell's 2011-2012 schedule will features eight teams that reached the 2010-2011 postseason. These include
Penn State (2011 NCAA Tournament team)
Illinois (2011 NCAA Tournament team)
Bucknell (2011 NCAA Tournament team)
Princeton (2011 NCAA Tournament team)
Boston U. (2011 NCAA Tournament team)
Harvard (2011 NIT team)
St. Bonaventure (2011 College Basketball Invitational team)
Buffalo (2011 CollegeInsider.com Tournament team )
In addition to facing three (3) BCS Conference opponents (Illinois, Maryland and Penn State), Cornell will also tested by teams from among the strongest mid major leagues in the country, namely, CAA (Delaware), A-10 (St. Bonaventure) and MAC (Buffalo).

News and Notes: Thursday Edition

Below, news and notes for Thursday...
Boston College – Joe Jones left to become the head coach at Boston University and Steve Donahue [former Cornell head coach] has decided to promote [former Cornell assistant] Woody Kampmann and hire Izzi Metz [also a former Cornell assistant] as his new director of basketball operations. The Eagles will play in the 76 Classic in Anaheim and have non-league games against Providence (12-8) at home, UMass (11-21) and Penn State (11-30). Dallas Elmore transferred out of the program while Oregon transfer Matt Humphrey is eligible this season. [Donahue has also promoted former Cornell assistant, Nat Graham].

Maryland – Mark Turgeon brought Scott Spinelli and Dustin Clark (director of basketball operations) with him from Texas A&M, hired Dalonte Hill (Kansas State) and kept Orlando “Bino” Ranson. The Terps will play in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off and also have non-league games vs. Illinois (11-29), against Notre Dame (12-4) in D.C. and against Temple at the Palestra (1-21). Haukur Palsson left the program to play pro ball back home.

Schedule Update: Gray to Discuss Big Red Opponents

Brian Delaney of ESPN Radio 1160 announced via Twitter that Jon Gray will be a guest on the Between the Lines Show to discuss Cornell's 2011-2012 schedule.
