Ryan Pearson has career night as Patriots play their most impressive game of the season

Photo by John PowellWow, where has this team been? Andre Cornelius has been back for three games but certainly his presence alone could not have sparked what we witnessed last night against Charleston. The Patriots look motivated, on both ends of the court and sported a balance attack on offense. They ended Charleston's 15-game home court winning streak just as there own 18-game one was ended by Duquesne last Wednesday. Ah the circle of college basketball life.  Mason was red hot from the field to open the game (54% in the 1st half) and held Charleston's long range attack in check. It was easily the Patriots best perimeter defense we have seen all year, largely due to Andre Cornelius being in the teeth of the Cougars back court...

Ithaca Journal: Cornell Seeks Road to Success

Cornell men seek road to successThe Ithaca JournalEvery coach in college basketball faces unique challenges. Cornell men's basketball coach Bill Courtney's challenge often involves coaching two very different teams in the same game."It's been hard to pin down why we've looked like two different teams in different halves of games," Courtney said. "In different games its different things that allow you to play well or play bad. Getting momentum has been a problem, but for us it's a process. We've been putting ourselves in situations to win games on the road, which is all a coach can ask for. Now we just have to figure out a way to finish."The Big Red lost its third consecutive close road contest and third game overall Wednesday, rallying...

Previewing George Mason at Charleston

TV: ESPN3.com or Free stream hereGeorge Mason heads to the road for their final non-conference away game of the year at Charleston.  This is probably going to be the highest RPI team they have remaining on the schedule for this year and a win would definitely ease some worries as they are about to head into a tough CAA stretch of games. The Patriots had a big second half to put away Manhattan and they will need that fire once again. Mason really needs to shore up their perimeter defense to have a chance in this game because Charleston has an array of players who can all shoot the three.  They take a lot of long range shots (avg about 23 attempts a game) and nearly upset #4 Louisville last week with their success from behind the arch....
